Zebra Manuals for Programming  
Note for use of the Zebra manuals:
The Zebra manuals describe how the programming of the scanners works. It is realized with the help of programmable codes or the Zebra 123Scan-Tool software.
The Ex compliant connection and handling is described in the BARTEC manuals.
If information overlaps with BARTEC manuals, then follow the information in the BARTEC manuals. The BARTEC manuals are of higher priority.

The BCS3600ex is equivalent to the following Zebra devices:
  - BCS3608ex => DS3608-HP or ER hand-held scanner
  - BCS3678ex => DS3678-HP or ER Bluetooth hand-held scanner

123Scan is an easy-to-use, PC-based software tool that enables the quick and easy set-up of Zebra scanners.
The readme contains important information about connection, recognition and compatibility.

Capture DNA tools are available from Zebra for the Ex-certified BCS36x8ex series handheld scanners.
The DataCapture DNA is the genetic code that simplifies the entire scanning experience. The result is easy device integration, setup and management.

123 Scan Utility
Recommended for programming the scanners via a Windows PC.
Note: Ex-relevant programming cable required!

Scan-To-Connect (only for Bluetooth version)
In one step, connect your Bluetooth scanner to a phone, tablet or PC by simply scanning a STC barcode. Available as a standalone utility or source code for easy app integration.

Scanner Control Application (only for Bluetooth version)
This fully featured application with source code enables Bluetooth scanners to be connected and controlled by a tablet or smartphone.

PRZM Intelligent Imaging
PRZM sets the bar for 2D imaging by enhancing decode performance and snappiness, dramatically improving the user experience.

Multi-Code Data Formatting
Scan multiple barcodes with a single trigger pull. The application can be programmed to scan once and transmit only the barcodes users want, in the sequence they want.

Prefered Symbol
Zebra’s Preferred Symbol is a barcode prioritization technique that lets one barcode, scanned among other barcodes, to be singled out for decoding while excluding the others.

Intelligente Dokumentenerfassung (only with SE4750-HP scan engine)
Eliminate the cost and space required for a document scanner. Capture an image while processing barcode data and automatically optimize image appearance by de-skewing and brightening.

Wi-Fi Friendly Mode (only for Bluetooth version)
Allow Bluetooth scanners to operate on Wi-Fi networks without interference, while maintaining peak network performance.
Driver & Plugins

Plugins (contain Firmware) are required for use of the Ex-certified hand-held scanner, that the 123Scan Utility can recognize the connected scanners and allow the possibility of software update or a configuration.
The plugins are an integral part of the Zebra 123Scan utility.
The Zebra 123Scan utility can always be brought up to date with the update function.

Driver for Universal-supply module (USM).
When the USM is connected, the drivers are automatically detected by Windows operating system and installed as needed.
If automatic detection is not possible/working then the driver of FTDI-FT232-R can be downloaded and installed manually.
The driver is compatible with:
- Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 --- 32/64 bit

Note: The drivers can only be used in combination with BCS3678ex when connected to base station or direct Bluetooth connection to other devices.

Each driver is suitable for a specific application.
The Zebra drivers are not suitable when using the universal power supply module.

FAQ & Video
How to use the AutoConfig function?
AutoConfig allows the Bluetooth scanner to quickly connect to a base station and take over the configuration.
How to activate the Picklist Mode?
It enables the digital scanner to decode only barcodes that are aligned under the laser crosshair or LED aiming dot. This feature is useful in applications where multiple bar codes may appear in the field of view during a decode session and only one of them is targeted for decode.
